“Anybody looking to get away from it all in the Suffolk countryside should look no further than Nick's place. This is hands down the best airbnb stay that I have ever had; so good in fact that I don't really know where to start, but I'll try. The house was amazing - finished to an extremely high standard with lots of stylish and comfortable rooms; gardens that were a delight to be in; and all the amenities that a family could hope for. There were so many incredible touches as well: kitchen essentials; fresh produce (and a few drinks); and special treats for the children to name a few. We really couldn't have asked for more. Finally, Nick and Sophie were so unbelievably responsive and flexible about EVERYTHING. We arrived in a heatwave and when we enquired about fans Nick turned up with two in about 5 minutes and by the next morning we had another two. A better set of hosts you couldn't ask for. If you're looking for a country escape then stop looking elsewhere and go here.”

”What a stunning property! Batchelor’s Lodge is a beautifully presented house with loads of space inside and out - Like a self-catered Soho House! Every room was tastefully decorated, and our every need was anticipated. The kitchen had all the utensils that we could have conceivably required. The gardens are beautiful and immaculately looked after with a manicured lawn and a large decked terrace complete with outdoor seating, a dining table, sun loungers and six parasols. There is also a large field sown with beautiful wild-flowers, at the end of which, there is a lovely bell-tent. Communication with Sophie (house manager) was fantastic, and nothing was too much trouble. She met us upon arrival and made herself available throughout. She also provided some lovely extra touches (plenty of Gin and Tonic for the adults on the ‘gin trolly’ and electric ride-on farm vehicles for the kids). We would highly recommend Batchelor’s Lodge to anyone, from family groups to couples who want a romantic stay in a beautiful country retreat.”

“Wow. The pictures just don't do this GORGEOUS house justice. From the moment we arrived we couldn't believe our luck. It’s stunning! Not only has it been decorated to highest standard but there is everything there. The kitchen is fully kitted out with everything you could need and more. The bedrooms are cosy and have a boutique hotel feel. The bathrooms/ shower rooms are fabulous, with multiple to choose from. There were plenty of board games, a gin bar, little electronic ride on tractors for the kids and a huge box of Lego which kept my son entertained for hours. Sophie and Nick had thought of everything. As we walked in, my son was greeted by a little cuddly toy which had a personalised message from Sophie and Nick. Tucked away off one of the main bedrooms was a small child's room which was sooo cute! They had a collection of classic stories and a few toys around the room. They also provided a travel cot. The fridge was also stocked with bacon, sausages, eggs, granola and yogurt. Nothing was too much trouble. When we arrived we didn't realise that the downstairs bedroom had bunk beds which was going to be a little challenging for our 90 year old grandma! Sophie was straight on it (in the pouring rain), organising for the bunk beds to be removed and swapped for a single bed. Thank you so much Sophie and Nick. It was a pleasure to meet you both. We left with a lot of interior design inspiration and a list of things to buy (those super comfy towels being some of them). We will be back for sure.”

You wont be disappointed staying at Bachelors Lodge, I highly recommend it. We had a wedding to attend in the area and the house was perfect for a family get together. An absolutely beautiful and very welcoming retreat in the gorgeous Suffolk countryside. It is meticulously clean and very thoughtfully designed. It is also a treat for little children with a trampoline, swings and a playground as well as an adorable hideaway bedroom. The owners, Tamsin and Nick, are absolutely lovely. Didn’t want to leave!

Bachelors Lodge is a very special place to stay. The house is in perfect condition and exquisitely decorated to a very high standard with a unique, contemporary and homely style. The house is well laid out with four generous bedrooms and is set in a peaceful location with a very private and beautiful garden. Your every need is taken care and there a lovely touches such as the complimentary drinks trolley, gorgeous soaps and shower gels, toys and activities for smaller children and first class sound system and TV for older ones. We enjoyed every minute and it was a real treat to be a guest there. Nick popped in to say hello and was a truly welcoming and relaxed host. The area is stunning and the location is close enough to London and the airport at Stansted for those visiting from further afield. If you are considering a stay - just book it!!

“I cannot describe how fantastic our stay was! Easily the best Airbnb I’ve stayed in. The home is immaculate, incredibly well decorated (soho house style interiors) and the most stunning deck and garden. We ended up spending most of our time at the house just because we didn’t want to leave! Nothing was too much for Sophie and Nick, they reached out in advance to give me top tips for the area and set up the rooms for our group specifically, the stocked gin and tonic trolley was also a particular favourite! Nick then came and lit the fire pits while we were out at dinner - drinks by the fire pit under the stars was something really special! I’m incredibly grateful to the two of them for making everything so special for us, I couldn’t recommend this Airbnb more and cannot wait to stay again!”

“This place was truly stunning. Super stylish throughout, extremely well-equipped kitchen and utility room, and enormous, beautifully landscaped grounds. Nothing was too much trouble for Nick - when we mentioned we’d forgotten to bring a ball for the children, he appeared 10 minutes later with a goal and football! The crowning touch was the three battery-operated tractors for the kids. And because the kids had so much space to play, the adults were free to relax. We’d love to return next year.”

”Five stars all round! Bachelor’s Lodge is an enchanting, immaculate, stylish and ultra-comfortable retreat in picture-perfect countryside. The pictures do not do it justice! Communication with Nick, Tamsin and Sophie was faultless from the outset. Nick greeted us himself to show us round and was very friendly and welcoming. Everything in the house is brand new and and in perfect condition, yet it feels very homely and soulful. Bread, fresh eggs and gin and tonic provided by Nick and Tamsin were the cherry on the icing! Nick and Tamsin were kind enough to let our children visit their rabbits and chickens and it was a pleasure to chat with them. They went above and beyond throughout the weekend (e.g. providing emergency antihistamines) and gave us excellent recommendations, including a fantastic local caterer and local beauty therapist. This house is a superb retreat for families. Little thoughtful touches (nightlights for kids, plastic dinnerware, high chairs, good selection of toys) meant that we hardly needed to bring anything with us. And the real highlight: ELECTRIC TRACTORS!! These provided hours of fun for our 2, 4 and 6 year olds! As did the tents in the large paddock/rear garden. I really cannot recommend Bachelor’s Lodge enough. We will be back!”

”Well! I was expecting to be disappointed as I didn’t see how Bachelor’s Lodge could possibly live up to the incredible reviews it had received. However, I was very happy to be proven wrong. The house is beautifully decorated and in idyllic grounds. Nick was the perfect host; thoughtful without being intrusive (and very relaxed). It’s not a cheap break but it is well worth it for a little taste of heaven. Loved it! What are you waiting for?”

What a lovely house! A big age range in our party from 6 months to 74 and everyone had been catered for.Toys for the little ones, cots and even cutlery for them.It is so well equipped that we were able to cook and eat comfortably at the dining table or outside.A very peaceful garden full of interest and a pleasant place to sit.
Nowhere could have been nicer for our family gathering.
